Kraft Card Weaving Shapes are a great activity designed to introduce children to the art of weaving. Weaving supports fine motor skill development and coordination. It also helps children learn about colour and patterns.

There are six assorted weaving card designs all with pre-cut slots. Cards are approximately 12.7cm – 15.6cm. This compact size makes them easy for children to hold, weave and complete in a lesson.

Cards can be woven into using acrylic wool, threads, paper stripping, ribbons, and paper raffia. Extension ideas: Before use, shapes can be painted, printed, or drawn on. Completed woven designs can also be embellished with markers, sequins, jewels, and beads. Tassels or stringed beads can be hung from the outer frame.

Display ideas: Stick a magnet to the reverse side to create a fridge decoration. Punch a hole and add a hanger to create a bauble or a festive ornament (for Christmas or Easter). Join shapes together using string to create a class bunting or wall hanging. Laminate shape to create a bookmark. Use as the belly of an animal or character.
